Happy New Year!!!

Wow, where has the time gone?! Am I the only one that can not believe its already 2012, surely not?!!! Its been a wild ride for us too and I am really looking forward to a new year full of promise and hope and all the possibilities. A calmer, more content year full of blessings and beauty!! Let's raise a glass to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new!!!! Wishing you a fantastic 2012, bringing you happiness and prosperity beyond measure!!

Wallpaper making a comeback????

I'm sure by now y'all know that I'm getting my house ready to put on the market..well maybe you don't! But I am, way too much house for me. Even though Skooter's still here its just too much to take care of and I'm really tired of all the upkeep! Anyhoo....I'm trying to get it ready and its been several years since its been painted so...nothing like a fresh coat of paint to freshen things up and besides..I want it looking all cutesy and stuff! So in deciding on what I want to do with it and looking around at what everyone else is doing...I've run across lots of wallpaper lately. Some of its really cute and different. I like different, I like whimsical...I like that wow factor!! But is that something that I'll get tired of?! I mean it maybe great today but tomorrow I may not be feeling whimsical! Here's a sampling of something's that I've found! What do you think...to wallpaper or not to wallpaper???????

The True Meaning of Christmas????

I know I haven't been around much lately and for that I'm sorry! I love doing this and all the people I have met and all the beautiful things I'm exposed to! For me personally I have to be in the right frame of mind in order to write these post and honestly, I just have not been there! This is a much more serious post for me and actually a difficult one to write. I certainly don't mean to bring anyone down or rain on any one's parade right here at the best time of the year, so please take it for what it is! We get sooo wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of it all we just completely take leave of our senses!! What happened to civility, and the golden rule and love and peace that passes all understanding??? Zip, zing, nada...flies right out the window at this time of year!! I do not want to be one of those people!!!


What do you think Christmas really is about, what's it mean to you? I'm not really feeling it this year. This has been one heck of a year for my family. Been lots of pain, hurt and disappointment. Things have been said, done and happened...and there is no rewind button! This is a VERY difficult Christmas for me! As I sit here and feel sorry for myself/my family I have to remember, there are worse things! As most of you know, my daughter in law has cervical cancer. Its not good and its looking like nothing short of a miracle will do! The usual stuff runs through your brain...Lord please let her live long enough to get my granddaughter grown, what will my poor son do if something happens to her, she's so young and that's not the natural cycle of things! Parents go first, grandparents go first...not thirty somethings! How can I fix this, what can I do to make it better...bottom line...NOTHING! There's nothing anyone can do. Only God!!! So as we run around and suffer from road rage, idiots and rude people shopping and shouting, looking for the perfect gift and spending more and more money every year...what's really important here? What really matters?? I realize...this could be the last Christmas we spend with her and actually with or with out her disease...none of us know how long we have. It could be the last Christmas for a lot of us! This is not suppose to be a sad post or a post to bring anyone down and I'm so sorry if it does that! Its suppose to be a gratitude post, a post that makes you stop and think for a minute, reminds you of what IS important, make you appreciate what you have. So tell  me what does it mean to you? Seriously, any of you that know me well know that I am all about the bottom line...what's your bottom line here?  Is there something you do as a family or on your own that makes it more special or that brings the true meaning home for you? Please do share it, don't keep it a secret...it may be just the thing someone else is needing to hear or you maybe creating a tradition for someone that they will cherish for generations to come...how cool is that one! Seriously, share it and then I want you to go hug your babies, tell your significant other how much they mean to you, call your mama, hug your brother and sister no matter how much you wanna shoot em, smile and look a stranger in the eye with all the warmth and love and compassion spilling out of you and all over them! It's about spending time with the people you love and care about. OMG I'm loving that idea and loving some of the decor and not just the holiday decor I might add! Give Away From The Polka Dot Closet

I have always wanted one of these!! How much fun would this be to have in your closet?! I want one and their very reasonable so if I don't win...I'm buying one! It would go perfectly in my closet. My closet, BTW, is a room  that was added on at some point in time off the master suite. Probably it was an office because its got an exterior door. One day I'll have to blog about that...its gonna get a make over soon!!! Which is why I sooooo need this!! You don't get it decorated like this one but that's okay because that means we can do whatever we want to it!!

Remember Audree???

She's my cute little trailer that I want soooo badly!!! Well she's all decorated for Christmas and you just have to see her. You can check her out here and see my earlier post here!! Its amazing how a little bit of nothing can completely change the look of things! Audree makes me feel good and I'm still wanting a little trailer just like her! I can't believe I feel that way, I am not and never have been a camper of any sorts. Again, my idea of roughing it is Holiday Inn or to make that a little more clear, anything less than three stars! I would so stay with Audree and be proud to do so! One of these days....SIGH!!!!!!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree...

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I love this time of the year! I know they put stuff out earlier and earlier every year but I don't care because its my favorite time! I'm not crazy about the commercialism of it all, don't get me wrong. I think its all about perspective though and its a visible reminder of my Lord and Saviors birth! Who needs more of a reason to celebrate than that! There's just something about it that evokes happy thoughts and no matter how bad things may be or how bad they're going to be, its impossible to be anything but happy! We've already gotten out the decorations and started decorating but we are no where near through!

Did you know that the first Christmas tree can be traced back to 1441! Traditionally, Christmas Trees were not brought in and decorated until December 24th or for those that celebrated the first day of Christmas, on the 23rd. Then they were removed after the 12th night, January 6th. It was even considered bad luck to have one up before or after these dates. There are still countries that follow their traditions, and ours would be...gurl, get that tree up!!!!

So how about some trees to get us in the spirit this morning!!!!!

Baby Bumps and Showers!!

 Went to the cutest lil baby shower on Sunday! Mika, Reagen's friend, is due...December 25th...of all days right! So we rode over to Henderson for the shower, which was soooo cute!! You'd have to know Mika to really appreciate it all. While she is a girlie girl, she's not a pink girl at all! Her choice of colors are perfect and all of her bedding and things were made for her, including that cute lil painting...it turned out perfect!! Boy, did she clean house, let me tell you! Its amazing all the stuff they have for babies now! Thought I'd share with y'all...a perfect afternoon for a baby shower!!! Here's a big ole welcome to Marley Pearl!!!

BTW...did you check out all that shabbyness???? Couldn't get better pics because it was packed!! Very cute though!!

First Monday Trade Days

Busy weekend!!! It was a beautiful weekend though and perfect weather for being out and about so that's exactly what we did! It was First Monday and in our neck of the woods that means an all day affair of just about anything and everything you'd ever hope to see... or not! Considered to be the "Grand Daddy of all flea markets", it originated in 1850 when the judge came in the first Monday of the month to hold court. It has now grown so large, up to 500,000 people and on over 100 acres, I'd need the whole weekend to see everything I think! It runs Thursday through Sunday and we went on Friday! Thank God we didn't wait until Saturday because it was soooo crowded, we could hardly walk and look at some things we wanted to. We never made it to the back where the real bargains are. I also wouldn't have been able to meet in person one of my all time fav's, Cathy over at Girls Gone Junkin! She is just as sweet and friendly in person, a girl after my own heart! When you go, make sure and stop by to show her some love and tell her I sentcha!!! We loved it and while we didn't make it home with anything...its not because we didn't want too!! I'll apologize for the pics in advance...limited on space and used my phone so the lighting kinda sucks!!!!
